Smokeclaws cold ice blue eyes slowly took in the territory before his paws. This Darkclan was strong and fearless from what he'd seen during his nights spent watching them. The other clans were weak, wasteful fur balls who in time would either fall under the might of Darkclans warriors or end up slaves to them. Smokeclaw flexed his powerful muscles and then stretched his dark brown body to it's long full langth. Standing upright again he shook his fur out and lept into the trees, using his signature way of getting around by leaping from one branch to another. Stopping to rest after a deceivingly long jump he looked down and spotted a single cat. Not wanting to ruin his chances of Darkclan taking him in he jumped down from the tree and into a moss pile, the miss making his landing soundness. Lifting his head proudly he stepped out into the lone cats site and dipped his head giving a short non threatening,"Hello"

Rainstar's eyes landed on Smokeclaw before she even registered what the noise was. She lunged down from the top of her rockpile, and landed in front of the cat, body crouched. She could see that this cat over here probably meant no threat, but she made it known the she had hard trained muscles under her long black fur.
' Hello ,, '
No hesitation? This cat is brave. He must know where he is, that, or not know at all.
"Hello, cat." She didn't say it rudely. It could be easily mistaken for that, since Rainstar was making it more then known that she was in charge here.
"May I ask of what you're looking for?" It was the challenge. From this cat's response, would shape Rainstar's reaction. It would essentially decide their fate.

Smokeclaw dipped his head to her saying,"I'm here to ask to join your great clan. I find the others weak like me and I wish to make Darkclan stronger."

I hadn't meant to be eavesdropping, but I was curious and quickly was padding up, fur bristling. I could be rude and conceited, but I could also be friendly and open. Catch me in a good mood, and you'll be fine. Catch me in a bad one...
Well, as I had seen Rainstar talking to the other cat, a dark tom with blue eyes, and as the cat was not one of DarkClan, my natural instinct was aggression. Yeah, well, I wasn't about to be like that. The tom was well muscled, and if he wanted to join DarkClan...
"Rainstar?" I asked questioningly. "Who is this?"

Rainstar paused, and tipped her head to one side trying to consider. "He wants," she paused "To join our clan." She balanced on three paws, weighing the options as if it was her slender body on a log. "Tell me your name."

The dark furred tom raised his head proudly saying,"My name is Smokeclaw."

My glassy-green eyes narrowed slightly. The black tom-Smokeclaw-seemed fit, he would make a good warrior for DarkClan...
It was Rainstar's desision, if she declined, I wouldn't say anything. Actually, if she agreed, I wouldn't say anything either.
For all I knew, Smokeclaw wouldn't turn out to be loyal to the Clan. If the cat wanted to join...
I relaxed slightly after realizing I was still tensed up, my neck fur prickling and my tail whipped from side to side. I tilted my head slightly to look at Rainstar, giving her a questioning look.

Rainstar paused again. It was a deep decision to choose a new member of the clan, especially one that already was aged as a warrior. Plus Rainstar had no background information on him etc, but at the same time, DarkClan needed more warriors. The only way they were getting by was because the few they had were very strong. She noticed Flamedance tense, and she wondered what her deputy was thinking. "Do you have any fighting or hunting experience? She asked, stalling Smokeclaw so that she could be on the same page as Flamedance. She didn't want to speak allowed, that would probably be considered rude. So she tipped her tail back and fourth in a way only her deputy would see, as if saying "Yes or no?" She needed to know what her deputy thought. Although the final decision is Rainstar's, and she's already made up her mind, she wanted Flamedance to know that she could tell anything to Rainstar, and that her opinion may not matter most; but more then a warrior, senior warrior, or even an elder.

I noticed Rainstar twitch her tail, Stoneclaw not noticing, but she indicating she wanted to know what my opinion was.
I half-wanted to let the dark-furred warrior join, but another half of me was pushing against the idea. Stoneclaw would make a good warrior, possibly a great fighter, too, and maybe a good hunter. If he already had those skills...still, yes or no, Stoneclaw could turn against DarkClan just as easily.
I finally decided on what I thought, though normally I would've been more cautious. But, I guess I should be willing to give the cat a chance.
I nodded my head very slightly so Rainstar would catch the movement, but Stoneclaw would hopefully wouldn't think much about it. The nod, if Rainstar caught it, was seeming to say, 'yes'.

Smokeclaw nodded,"I have plenty. Though I don't like to fight if I can win with words."

"Well then," Rainstar paused. She already made up her mind, in fact, she'd known since this cat first pawed in. But she still made it look like she was considering. She still made it seem like she was pondering the two possibilities, yes or no? She finally decided. "Welcome to DarkClan" She said, and let a long tail sweep show around the clearing.
